New Museum Exhibit Features Works of Howard Rollin

The works of a local artist acclaimed for his watercolor paintings of birds are featured in the new Lower Gallery Exhibit at the Fort Morgan Museum.

Artist C. Howard Rollin (1909-1983) grew up on his family’s homestead in Wildcat Canyon near Weldona. He lived in Morgan County for 70 years, starting in 1912.

Museum Acquires Rare, Impressive New Artifacts

The Fort Morgan Heritage Foundation recently acquired three important artifacts to add to the collection of the Fort Morgan Museum.

The rarest and most impressive artifact is a fur trade ash tomahawk.  Early traders exchanged these dual-purpose axes to Western tribes for beaver pelts. This beautiful example was, according to an appraisal, made around 1850.
