City Swimming Pool to Open Saturday, June 1

The City of Fort Morgan Community Swimming Pool will open for the season Saturday, June 1, at 1 p.m.

The pool will be open continuously from 1 to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, with Family Evening Swim on Tuesdays from 6 to 8 p.m. Open swim hours will be from 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sundays.

Police Seek Help Identifying Theft Suspects

Fort Morgan Police are asking for the public's help in identifying two suspects in a theft at Murdoch's.

The man and woman are suspected in a theft incident on May 8 at the Fort Morgan store. Their photos were captured on surveillance video and police ask that anyone who recognizes them call dispatch at (970) 867-5678.

Family Movie Night at Library Thursday, May 30

The Fort Morgan Public Library will hold a free family movie night on Thursday, May 30, starting at 6 p.m. in the Children’s Library. The animated feature “The Lego Movie 2” will be shown and all ages are welcome to attend.

Snacks and juice will be served during the movie and patrons are encouraged to wear pajamas and bring pillows and blankets.

There is no registration required and no cost.

FMPD, Brush Get Grant to Form Drug Enforcement Unit

The Fort Morgan and Brush Police Departments learned last Friday, May 3, that they will share a grant of more than a half-million dollars to create a joint drug investigation unit serving the two departments.

The Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Board approved the FMPD’s request for four years of funding for a joint Drug Enforcement Unit with the Brush PD. The grant totals $516,000 over a four-year period starting as early as January 2020.

Rec Dept. Planning Weeklong Trip to Branson, Mo., in Fall

The Fort Morgan Recreation Department has a very special trip planned for this fall: a seven-day, six-night adventure to Branson, Mo., that will include lodging, many meals and seven shows in the city known for its spectacular performances.

The departure date will be Sunday, Sept. 29, at 8 a.m. from the Senior Center, 110 Sherman St. The return trip will arrive back in Fort Morgan on Saturday, Oct. 5. This trip is available for anyone 21 and over.
