Two More Promoted to Corporal at FMPD

Two more Fort Morgan Police Department personnel have been promoted to the rank of corporal, bringing the department’s total to four.

Officer Ted Thyne and Detective Evan Schiel were promoted this week. They join Corporals Jared Iungerich and Jon Renteria, who earned the corporal rank last year.

Family Movie Night at Library Thursday, Feb. 28

The Fort Morgan Public Library will hold a family movie night on Thursday, Feb. 28, starting at 6 p.m. The movie “Incredibles 2,” the long-awaited sequel to the original animated hit “The Incredibles,” will be shown and all ages are welcome to attend.

Snacks and juice will be served during the movie and patrons are encouraged to wear pajamas and bring pillows and blankets.

There is no registration required and no cost.

City Water Board Takes Fresh Look at NISP

Fort Morgan’s Water Advisory Board convened its first meeting in several years on Jan. 28 to review the status of the NISP project and potential modifications to the city’s water policy.

The first item of business was to elect officers, as terms had expired since the last water board meeting. A unanimous vote made Jack Odor chairman and Bill Baker vice chair. Both have been on the board since its inception in the early 2000’s.

Fort Morgan Ranked 16th Safest City in Colorado

The City of Fort Morgan was ranked as the 16th safest city in Colorado in a recent report by the National Council for Home Safety and Security.

The ratings are based on public crime data supplied by the FBI, and cover the year of 2018. Fort Morgan moved up three places in the rankings, from 19th safest in 2017, according to FMPD Chief of Public Safety Paul Schultz.

Teens have the opportunity to explore all types of writing styles and themes in a relaxed environment at the Fort Morgan Library and Museum Community Room during monthly meetings of the Teen Creative Writing Club.

Dinner Playhouse Trip for Seniors Planned March 16

The Fort Morgan Senior Center is offering a trip for seniors to see the play “Oliver” during a matinee performance at the Candlelight Dinner Playhouse in Johnstown.

The cost is $60 per person and includes transportation, one of the selected entrees from the playhouse and admission to the show. The meal begins at noon and the show commences at 1:30 p.m.
