General Information
The City of Fort Morgan allows retail sales and public displays of fireworks in the City limits. To safeguard the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of the City of Fort Morgan and to eliminate the harm to health and property within the City, Ordinance No. 1068 was passed on final reading June 3, 2008, amending Section 20-12 of the
Fort Morgan Municipal Code.
For retail sales of fireworks in the City limits, an Application for Retail Sales of Fireworks must be filed with the
City Clerk at least 20 days before the first day of sales. For display of fireworks in the City limits, an Application for Public Exhibition or Display of Fireworks must be filed with the City Clerk at least 20 days before the display.
Pursuant to Section 12 of Ordinance No. 1068, “Any person, firm, or corporation violating any provision of this ordinance shall be fined not less than Fifty ($50) Dollars or more than One-Thousand ($1,000) for each offense, and a separate offense shall be deemed committed on each day during or on which a violation occurs or continues.” Enforcement of Ordinance No. 1068 is by the
Code Enforcement division of the
Fort Morgan Police Department.
