Probation

In addition to imposing fines and costs, the judge may sentence a defendant to supervised or un-supervised probation..  The judge may require a defendant's appearance at classes, counseling or evaluations, or community service as a condition of probation.

Failure to comply with probation terms and conditions may result in the revocation of probation and the imposition of sentence, including the possibility of a jail sentence. Any questions about what the judge has ordered and/or the expectations of probation should be clarified before leaving Court.
