The Director of Community Development handles the planning and zoning duties for the City of Fort Morgan. Planning and Zoning provides land use and development-related services to the general public, landowners, developers, builders, and their consultants.

Support Provided
In addition, the Department provides logistical and technical support for the Planning Commission and the Board of Adjustment, the City Council, City Departments, Morgan County, and local, State, and federal agencies. The Department ensures that current and long-range applications fit within the overall vision of the community and its governmental organization.

Duties
The Planning and Zoning duties are functionally organized into four interrelated categories to best serve the City, with the primary responsibility being current planning, process management, and technical review of land use applications, including annexation, zoning and rezoning, and subdivision site plans.
