Registration Parties Set for Youth Fall Sports

The City of Fort Morgan Recreation Department will host registration parties for its fall youth sports programs, as the deadlines to sign up approach.

The registration party for co-ed Youth Volleyball will be held Friday, July 21, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Armory Recreation Center. This is the last day to sign up at the low early-bird registration fee.

Two 'Coffee With a Cop' Sessions Scheduled for July

Two more sessions of the Fort Morgan Police Department’s “Coffee With a Cop” program have been scheduled, with both to be held at the new “Pop Up Community Center” at 218 Main St.

The sessions will be on July 18 from noon to 1 p.m., hosted by Chief of Public Safety Paul Schultz, and July 27 from 4 to 5 p.m. hosted by FMPD Sgt. Doug Schossow.

Registration Open for New Men's Softball League

The City of Fort Morgan Recreation Department will be hosting a new Men’s Softball League this summer for players age 16 and above.

Teams must have at least 10 players and a maximum of 16. The cost is $250 per team for early bird registration (deadline July 28) and $275 for the late registration fee (deadline Aug. 4).

City Swimming Pool to Close for Swim Meets, Holiday

The City of Fort Morgan’s Riverside Pool will be closing early on June 20 and July 25 for Morgan Marlins swim meets. The pool will close at 3 p.m. on those dates, and will also be closed all day on July 4.

All swim lessons and water aerobics will proceed as normal on the swim meet days, but open swim will only be from 1 to 3 p.m.

The pool will be closed on July 4 for Independence Day. There will be no swim lessons and no open swim that day.
