The City of Fort Morgan Recreation Department is offering a free casino trip to Black Hawk on March 29 for adults age 21 and up.

The Fort Morgan Police Department has increased its presence in and around all schools in Fort Morgan in the wake of the school shooting last week in Parkland, Fla.

Children's Library Closure to Last Into Spring

The downstairs children’s library at the Fort Morgan Public Library is expected to remain closed well into the spring as extensive restoration and repair work is completed.

Rockies Game Trip for Seniors Set for April 25

Senior citizens can enjoy a trip to Coors Field for a game between the Colorado Rockies and the Washington Nationals for the bargain price of $15 on April 25.

The trip is sponsored by the Fort Morgan Recreation Department and the cost includes a ticket to the game and round-trip bus transportation. The trip is for seniors 55+ and those who accompany them, and the deadline to register is Saturday, April 14.

Police Warn of Upsurge in Counterfeit Bills

Over the past few months there has been a rise in counterfeit bills being passed in the northeast Colorado region, according to the Fort Morgan Police Department.

These types of cases seem to come and go throughout the year, police said. The most often counterfeited bills seem to be $20 and $100 bills, and businesses are the first line of defense for the detection of counterfeit bills.

Rec Center Designates Days for Basketball, Soccer

Due to heavy use of the gym at the City of Fort Morgan’s Armory Recreation Center, the Rec Department has decided to designate certain nights and times for basketball use and other nights for soccer play.

Effective Wednesday, Jan. 10, Mondays and Wednesdays from 5 to 8 p.m. will be designated for basketball play, and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5 to 8 p.m. will be for soccer only.

Adult Pickleball Two Evenings a Week at Green Acres

A free pickleball open gym for adults 18 years and older is held twice weekly through the Fort Morgan Recreation Department at the Green Acres Elementary School gym.

The pickleball open gym will be Mondays and Thursdays from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. from Nov. 27 through March. All skill levels are welcome to come enjoy the fun. The event is free and no registration is required.
